SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Matt Hanson, D-Montgomery, issued the following statement Wednesday, February 21st, after Gov. J.B. Pritzker gave his annual budget address:
“This year’s budget is an opportunity to further invest in our local schools, create safer communities and support working families. From increasing access to behavioral health services to expanding early childhood care, I’ve heard from residents who want a responsible budget that reflects the priorities of our community. It’s also critical we take a balanced approach with this budget, and continue to build on the fiscal responsibility shown in recent years that has stabilized state finances and better positioned us to address future challenges. I look forward to reviewing the governor’s proposal in detail, and to the work ahead in developing a responsible plan that understands the concerns of local residents.”
